The Product

• Targeted to be the smallest bench top automated library preparation instrument
• Complex instrument interfaces with a cartridge that has 20+ reagents and a sample port
• Includes a reagent cooler, magnetic bead extraction, and a proprietary fluidic transport system

Our Role

• Delivered a fully functional alpha production prototype which interfaces with the prototype cartridge to run the assay workflow end-to-end in 18 weeks
• Worked closely with the cartridge team to analyze, design, and lock the cartridge-to-instrument interfaces within 6 weeks to enable parallel development of multiple systems and cartridges
• Instrument enabled assay scientists to integrate assay development onto the prototype cartridge
• System and mechanical analysis were completed in order to create a low cost and manufacturable product architecture
• Thermal analysis completed to inform the ID development and product packaging
