Product Requirement

• Measures degradation for optical power of high-power LEDs over life. Tests various heat sink designs to validate convective cooling coefficients used in thermal FEA.

Test Parameters ​

• Measures heat sink thermal distribution, convective heat transfer coefficient, and light power degradation over life.

Hardware 

• Photodiodes, thermocouples, and fans.

Tool Operation ​

• LEDs are driven at various load levels and duty cycles to evaluate the cooling system performance.  Once cooling system design was selected, tool was set up to measure light power over life.
